MA0.6FA0.4PbI3 material based efficient and stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are fabricated by electron transport layer (ETL) interfacial modification. The highest power conversion efficiency (PCE) of device was ~ 17%. Cesium acetate and cesium carbonate were used with low temperature processed sol-gel ZnO ETL for interface modifications. Low leakage current and enhanced dark injection current are observed from dark current-voltage measurement. From the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement higher recombination resistance and lower interfacial contact resistance are observed in the PSC devices. Mott-Schottky analysis also shows the higher flat-band potential and enhanced device performance with cesium acetate ETL. Cesium acetate related ZnO ETL has large grain size which leads to reduce the device series resistance and contact resistance in PSC compared to cesium carbonate ETL related device. Perovskite film on cesium acetate ETL has better surface morphology, topography and hydrophobicity characterization compared to perovskite film grown on cesium carbonate ETL film. The material work function and electron injection barrier are also investigated by X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). From electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements the charge transport behaviour and trap-assisted carrier recombination are estimated. Fabricated PSCs device stability has been measured for a month-long degradation study. The PSC device stability is observed four times higher with cesium acetate PSCs compared to cesium carbonate ETL related PSCs. The overall device PCE is around 82% higher with cesium acetate compared to cesium carbonate devices.

Hybrid organic–inorganic perovskite materials have attracted a lot of attention with their facile synthesis process and high efficiency of light absorption. However, poor stability is always a big barrier to commercial development. In this study, a new kind of organic perovskites MA0.6(AA)0.4PbBr3 (AM-PE), which harnesses aniline as a replacement of conventionally used methylamine, was synthesized to increase the stability of MAPbBr3 (M-PE). The decomposition process of MAPbBr3 in acetone was investigated. Smaller PbBr2 particles were formed in the decomposition process, causing the change of photoluminescence emission wavelength from 540 nm to 610 nm. The photocatalysis and photoluminescence properties of M-PE and AM-PE were also compared. As a result, the introduction of aniline reduced the decomposition rate of AM-PE significantly and showed twice the catalysis efficiency of M-PE in the degradation of organic dye - malachite green.

This is the first time that a highly purified white organic electrolyte salts (OES), Methylammonium iodide, CH3NH3I (MAI) and Methylammonium chloride, CH3NH3Cl (MACl) have been successfully synthesized by a new technique, high vacuum oven evaporation method (HVOE), which is inexpensive and less time consumable. Thermal stability of organic salt, pure and mixed perovskite light harvester materials (PLHM) are studied by STA (DTG/DTA). CH3NH3I and CH3NH3Cl undergo ~100% weight loss in one step, at temperature 310 o C and 350 o C, respectively. Additionally, CH3NH3PbI3 is more thermally stable than mixed halide perovskite CH3NH3PbI3-xCl. Stability behavior of organic salts and CH3NH3PbI3-xClx is analyzed by Raman study which indicates that organic salts are stable in ambient conditions and CH3NH3PbI3-xClx is not stable in ambient condition. Different stretching and banding modes of organic and inorganic materials are indentified by study of Raman spectra.

In this present work, Polyaniline (PANI) and Polyaniline-Niobium Pentoxide (PANI-Nb2O5) composite were synthesized separately at room temperature by chemical polymerization of aniline without/with Nb2O5. Comparative study of XRD pattern of PANI and the composite confirms superficial deposition of PANI on Nb2O5 and the average size of the composite particle was found to be 10 nm. Aggregated granular morphology of the composite as compared to pristine PANI was confirmed by SEM images. Sensitivity of PANI-Nb2O5 composite to humidity at room temperature was tested using digital LCR meter at a selected frequency of 100 Hz and the results showed consistent variation in impedance from 60 KΩ to 360 KΩ within the relative humidity (RH) range 25% - 95%. Further, the response and recovery time of the composite were measured to be 80s and 90s respectively and the composite showed stable sensing ability over a period of one month.
